Easy Brown Gravy

Easy Brown Gravy
The best gravy is created with pan drippings, crispy bits of flavor packed fond and homemade stock.

You know what I'm talking about.  The kind of gravy that you mistake as soup and find yourself spooning one scoop after another straight into your mouth, reassuring yourself that you are just tasting as you wipe the drips off your chin. Yeah, that kind of gravy!

But what do you do when that’s not an option and you need some gravy A.S.A.P.?

You pull out your easy brown gravy recipe that has saved that mound of ground beef or that lonely pork chop many of times from boredom.

You don’t have a recipe like that, you say. Well, you do now!

Roast Turkey Breast

Have you ever seen those turkey breast in bags, just like you would a whole turkey, only smaller?  They can be deceiving giving out the appearance that you will have leftovers for weeks, but trust me it’s mostly bone.  I assure you that you will also have plenty of meat, just not as much as it appears.  My grocer always has a couple defrosted next to the chicken allowing me to achieve an easy fresh roasted turkey fix anytime of the year.

Bacon Lovers Meatloaf

My daughter and I were watching a movie and they were making sarcastic remarks about meatloaf.  She turned to me and said, “What’s wrong with meatloaf?  I love meatloaf! Ha, ha.  I don’t get it either.  Meatloaf is always a crowd pleaser at my house and never gets boring because it can be changed up in so many ways.

Turkey Gravy

PRINT RECIPE
I hate messing with the roasting pan over the stove just before you are supposed to be getting all the Thanksgiving goodies to the table.  Scraping and whisking with no choice but to leave that mess of a pan in your sink to be dealt with later.

So I skip that step

Pot Roast Beef

PRINT RECIPE

I don’t really have a recipe for pot roast and have never tried to write one.  It’s more of a feel than an exact science.  It all depends on the size of the roast.  My meat cut of choice for pot roast is a well-marbled chuck that is about 3 – 4 inches thick.  I like this cut because it has a little more fat than other cuts which results in a juicy fork tender roast.

Meatloaf with Tomato Gravy

As fall quickly sneaks up on us, warm hearty comfort foods come to mind.  What could be more comforting than a homemade hot from the oven juicy meatloaf smothered in tomato gravy?

Hamburger Steak with Brown Gravy & Grilled Onions

This is another one of my family’s favorite Hawaiian Style dinners. Seasoned ground beef patties, smothered in brown gravy and topped with grilled onions. All you need now is the rice and macaroni salad.

Simple Roast Chicken

Last night I made a simple Roasted Chicken Breast using boneless - skinless chicken. It was tender and juicy, seasoned lightly and perfect for a quick and easy meal. My husband loves to eat this plain without the gravy. But my daughter loves the gravy.
