I found this recipe on the Taste of Home site. It was passed down 30 + years ago from her mother in-law. I love recipes that are generational. It held up to its 5 star rating and it has now become my go to blue cheese dressing recipe.
Buttermilk
Blue Cheese Dressing
½ cup buttermilk
½ cup sour
cream
1 cup mayonnaise
½ tsp. granulated
garlic
½ tsp. black
pepper
¼ tsp. Worcestershire
sauce
½ cup crumbled
blue cheese
You
can measure each ingredient in individual measuring cups and scoop it out into
a bowl.
Or
This
is what I do.
Place
the buttermilk in a 4 cup measuring cup to the ½ cup line.
Add
sour cream to the 1 cup line.
Add
mayonnaise to the 2 cup line.
Add
garlic, pepper and Worcestershire sauce; mix.
Stir
in blue cheese.
Add more buttermilk if you prefer a thinner dressing.
Add more buttermilk if you prefer a thinner dressing.
Cover
and refrigerate for at least 2 – 3 hour to allow the ingredients to meld
together.

Today I added 1/2 cup of heavy cream to the dressing (becasue I had some) and I was happy with the flavor and the body. I will do this again next time I make this dressing.
