Trader Joe’s does it again! You know how the picture on the box always looks better than what you get inside? Well, after these are proofed and baked. They look exactly like the picture!
My daughter Cecily told me about these
gems. It’s truly amazing how this tiny (literally 2” by 1”) piece of frozen dough transforms itself into a near perfect croissant, magically tripling in size overnight.
I know that this seems impossible (at least that’s what I
thought), until my husband made them.
When you bite into one of these croissants their flaky exterior is just
crispy enough to shatter all over your clothes, if not eaten over a plate
(guilty). Yet the interior is comprised of moist
layers of tender pull-a-part buttery dough. In fact these croissants are so ridiculously buttery that I passed on adding more. This statement is coming from someone who always
has about 4 pounds of butter in the fridge, for no other reason than... just in case.
What makes these croissants even better is that they
require zero effort to make.
It’s as simple as 1,2,3…
1.
Put them in your oven to proof on your way to
bed, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
2.
In the morning, take them out of the oven,
admire how much they have risen and preheat the oven.
3.
15 minutes later you have CRAZY delicious fresh
baked croissants to go with your coffee.
